It’s that time of the year and the holidays are upon us. Whether you love Christmas or you’re just trying to get through it, nothing makes a busy holiday better than a tasty adult beverage. We have put together some delicious festive drink recipes that we think you’re going to love.
Sparking Apple Pie on the Rocks
This cocktail is perfect for fall. The sweet and smoky apple cider mixed with a light cinnamon caramel apple simple syrup and topped off with some bubbly… it’s quite possibly the best holiday drink ever!
For this recipe (makes eight servings) You will need three cups of apple cider or apple juice, divided, one cup of caramel ice cream topping and a little extra for dipping, two cinnamon sticks (3 inches), gold sprinkles, one tablespoon of ground cinnamon and one bottle of brut champagne (750 milliliters).
Start by adding 1 cup of cider, 1 cup caramel topping, the cinnamon sticks and the ground cinnamon to a small saucepan. Stir it all together and bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer until the liquid is reduced to one cup. (about 15 minutes) Cool the mixture slightly and discard the cinnamon sticks.
Next, you’re going to place the sprinkles and remaining caramel topping in separate shallow bowls. Hold each glass upside down and dip the rim in the caramel topping and then in the sprinkles.
When you are ready to serve the cocktails, fill the glasses with ice. Add two tablespoons of the cooled cinnamon syrup to each glass; top with remaining cider and champagne. If you’d like to garnish the drinks, you can use apple slices and additional cinnamon sticks. Enjoy!
Cranberry Champagne Cocktail
This recipe is an easy one, yall. If you like cranberries, you are going to love this cocktail. It’s a bonus that this drink is also beautiful. When you’re buying your ingredients, keep in mind that this recipe is for one drink only so you’ll need to adjust the quantities accordingly.
The ingredient list for the sparkling beverage is small. You’re going to need one ounce of sweetened cranberry juice, one wedge of lime, champagne or sparkling wine and frozen cranberries.
The instructions for this drink are as simple as the ingredient list. In a chilled champagne flute, add a squeeze of lime and the cranberry juice. Top off the glass with the champagne and garnish with the some frozen cranberries. Enjoy!
Christmas Jello Shots (recipe makes 24)
For these tasty Jello shots, you will need one (3-ounce) box cranberry flavored powdered gelatin, three cups of water (divided), one cup of icy cold vodka (divided), one (3-ounce) box of orange flavored powdered gelatin and whipped cream and/or sugared cranberries for toppings.
For these festive Jello shots, you will need 24(2-ounce) plastic condiment cups, preferably with lids. Clear a space in your refrigerator so you can fit a baking sheet that will hold all of the cups. Arrange the cups in a single layer on the baking sheet.
The first thing you’re going to want to do is to sprinkle the cranberry Jello in a large heatproof bowl. Bring one cup of water to a boil and then pour the water of the gelatin in the bowl and whisk until the gelatin is dissolved. To this mixture, You’re going to add 1/2 cup of water and 1/2 cup of vodka and whisk again to combine the ingredients.
Pour about 3/4 ounce of the cranberry Jello mixture into each cup. (the cups should be half filled). Carefully transfer the tray to the fridge and let the cups chill for 2-3 hours.
While this layer is chilling, make the orange gelatin mixture using the same amounts and method as you did with the cranberry layer. DO NOT add this layer to the cups yet. You’re going to want to set this layer aside and let it cool to room temperature. (About an hour) Once the cranberry layer has set, and the orange layer is cool to room temperature, you can add it to the cups. Refrigerate the cups again, at least 4 hours or until you’re ready to serve.
When you’re ready to serve them, you can remove the lids and add a dollop of whipped cream and some sugared cranberries to the top. Enjoy!
