Every year, Americans spend more and more on Halloween candy. This year alone, a staggering 2.5 BILLION DOLLARS was spent on Halloween candy. That is A LOT of candy, folks.
If your house is like our house, you always wind up with way more candy than you can eat. Not to mention the candy you didn’t pass out. Instead of letting those goodies go to waste, send them to someone that would really appreciate them! Our Troops!
You can thank our troops, make someone’s day, share your candy and even get a tax deduction. All you need to do is to bring your candy to your local drop off location.
Several non-profit organizations will collect your candy and mail it to the men and women that dedicate their lives to our freedom.
Operation Gratitude
Operation Gratitude is a fantastic organization that sends care packages to every service member: first responders, our troops overseas, children of deployed family members, wounded soldiers, veterans and military caregivers. One of Operation Gratitudes busiest times of the year happens after Halloween.
The Halloween Candy for Heroes drive encourages families to mail their leftover candy to troops all over the world.
If you’d like more information about Operation Gratitude and how to donate your candy you can visit Operationgratitude.com
Operation Shoebox
It is Operation Shoebox’s mission to meet the needs of every hero with dignity and appreciation. One of the many ways they do that is by sending sweet treats to our troops. Operation Shoebox has delivered over one million shoeboxes full of goodies to troops overseas since its start in 2003. The organization accepts leftover holiday candy from Easter, Halloween, Christmas, and more to send to people in the military. If you have extra goodies, consider donating to Operation Shoebox to make a military member smile!
You can check out their website to see where the drop off locations are at Operationshoebox.com
Freedom Alliance
Over the years, The Freedom Alliance has mailed over 150 thousand care packages to our troops in the armed forces in appreciation for their sacrifices. There is nothing better than a gift from home when you’re away, right? Freedom Alliance believes that wholeheartedly and sends care packages to those who need them the most. Our troops. If you’d like to find out how to send your candy to a soldier overseas, visit their website at Freedomalliance.org

Soldiers’ Angels have become one of the highest rated nonprofits in the country. “May No Soldier Go Unloved” encapsulates the motivation behind Soldiers’ Angels. The volunteers of Soldiers’ Angels work tirelessly supporting our nation’s veterans, deployed service members and their families and wounded heroes. Soldiers’ Angels provides comfort and aide to the men and women of the United States Marines, Army, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, their families, and a growing veteran population.
